Passing

My wonderful dad died last night (April 27, 2011) at 9:19 PM in his home, the one he built with his own hands 42 years ago.  He died peacefully with my sister, brother, mom, and me at his bedside.  I feel honored that I was able to be with him at this time.  I will be sharing in the next few days or weeks as I feel the need to write some things down.  Thank you for all your kind words of comfort, and for your prayers.

I have been thinking of you all day, wondering.....
It is a blessing you were able to be with your Father at the time of his passing. I believe it is a gift the dying give us....to be present at such a sacred time.
Blessings to you and all your family.

Dear Paula,

I have been a faithful listener to your podcast for some months. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I can tell from your post that he was a wonderful, talented man and created lovely and sweet memories for you to enjoy. I know you will miss him terribly, but know that the wonderful qualities that we all enjoy in your writings and podcast are in part his bequest to you!

Paula, I am faithful Pipeline listener, and follow your blog. My thoughts and prayers are with you. April is a bittersweet month in my family as well - we have a number of birthdays, and both our parents died in April. Daddy died 14 years ago on the 2nd of April, and Mom died 7 years ago, also on the 27th. I am glad that you were able to be with him. Blessings. Cathie

Paula, you and your family are in my prayers. Your post is beautiful and the photos are so dear.

You know, I have known you for only a short time, yet I feel as though I am writing this to a long-time friend. That's how much you touch the hearts of those who listen to you.

Your father raised a very special, wonderful daughter.

I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away also on 4/9 after being stricken with Parkinson's disease about 1.5 years ago. His disease progressed quickly although his mind was always intact. He suffered a stroke in the end and we followed his wishes and waited for 8 days at his bedside till he passed. The loss of a parent is hard, but I am so thankful to have spent the last days with him. My thoughts are with you.
